Monterey & Carmel
California has one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the
world. Highway 1 south (PCH) through the beach town of Santa Cruz
features one spectacular view after another.
Scheduled stops on the tour include Steinbeck's Cannery Row in
Monterey. Here you will have time to visit Monterey Bay Aquarium
(admission price not included). More than 250,000 creatures fill over
200 spectacular exhibits, including a walk-through aviary, three
story kelp forest, penguin display, and a million gallon Outer Bay tank.
The "17 mile drive" includes Pebble Beach golf course, the Lone Pine,
and some of the best coastal vistas in the world. The tour stops in the
gallery/restaurant district of Carmel-by-the-sea and passes through
vistas from the historic to the futuristic. The coach returns through
Silicon Valley, the high tech capital of the world.
Please be aware that the driving (round trip) is approximately 5 hours.
The remaining time is spent sight-seeing and traveling within Monterey.
Tours depart on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Pick up at Castle Inn at 8:20 AM.
